SOUL participated in London Youths award winning sports programme, “Woodrow Wellbeing cup”. Held in partnership with Watford Football Club’s Community Sports & Education Trust and the Jack Petchy Foundation.
This residential football weekend brought together eight youth organisations, 64 young people and 16 youth workers and coaches. All of this in the magnificent surroundings of Woodrow High House, a 17th Century Manor House situated within 24 acres of grounds on the edge of the Chiltern Forest.
SOUL had taken 17 young people (2 teams) aged under 15 from our football academy on their first competitive football experience which additionally offered activities to further develop their love for sport and many fun games and activities to enhance team building and resilience.
SOUL’s group of young people did exceptionally well given their first experience as a team in a competitive tournament and were crowned B Cup plate winners and the second team respectively finishing 3rd place in the B Cup.
This experience is the first step to taking our academy boys to the next level and the young boys are raring to go for the next competition!
