SOUL Holidays Activities and Food (HAF) Programme - 2022
SOUL secured funding from Department for Education via London borough of Tower hamlets to deliver Holiday activities programme during the 2021 Easter break.
The programme was for children and young people aged 5 to 18-years-old who are eligible for free school meals.
We took the programme previously delivered last summer to the next level and delivered The HAF programme across 5 locations in Tower Hamlets.
The locations of delivery:
• St Johns Park – Isle of Dogs
• Gaath Football Pitch – Spitalfields & Banglatown
• Malmesbury estate – Bow west
• Collingwood estate – St Peters
• Shoreditch Power League – Weavers
The programme was delivered throughout the 2022 Easter break and included a hot meal each day along with nutritional education aimed at improving knowledge and awareness of healthy eating. Alongside the food, young people had the opportunity to participate in fun multisport physical activities and games.
Our chosen locations for delivery was not by chance. We operate and deliver outreach youth work, multi sports, health and well-being sessions in each area, regularly throughout the year on a weekly basis.
The programme engaged and delivered to over 250 young people across the Borough and has complimented our regular programmes, increasing delivery to many more participants.
